Police said Kiraly told them because his car went off the road in the accident, he thought he did not have to report it, though decided to do so at a reasonable hour.

Burglary on Old Newtown Road

An Old Newtown Road woman reported a burglary at 6:50 Tuesday night. She told police she had left her house at 8:30 that morning and came home at 6 p.m. and found an earring on the floor of her bedroom, according to the report.

Police said the homeowner decided to do an inventory of her jewelry and found several other pieces were missing. She believes entry had been made through a front window of the house.

Aside from the bedroom, a laptop computer and its carrying bag and $200 cash was missing from one room and $40 in cash was taken from a wallet in another room, according to the report.

Police are investigating the incident.

Jewelry Theft

A Deepwood Circle resident told police Tuesday that two jewelry cases were missing from an upstairs bedroom closet, according to the report.

The resident is in the process of moving out of state and hired a moving company. She told officers the movers were in her condo at time when her jewelry went missing, police said.

There were no signs of entry or forced entry and the victim was unable to provide the estimated value nor a description of the items taken at the time of the report, according to police, who added the incident is under investigation.

Stolen Tools

A bag of tools was reported stolen May 27 from the garage of a condo unit on Rolling Ridge.

The victim said the bag containing wrenches and screwdrivers was kept by the open garage door and was visible from the street. He did not see suspicious activity and had no idea who took his bag, according to police.
