Police Reports: Burglary, Larceny and DUI

Officers investigated a burglary on Bagburn Road, the theft of an iPad Touch and arrested a man for drunken driving.

A DUI on Route 111

A police officer observed a blue Chrysler driving erratically, while heading north on Monroe Turnpike at around 8:53 Wednesday night and pulled the car over near the intersection with Bagburn Road, according to the report.

The driver, Pawel Kaletka, 43, of Oxford had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on him and field sobriety tests determined he was under the influence, police said, adding he later refused to participate in a breathalyzer test at headquarters.

Kaletka was charged with DUI and failure to maintain the proper lane. He was released on $500 bond for a Dec. 20 court date.

A Stolen iPad Touch

A Masuk High School student reported his iPad Touch stolen Wednesday.

Police said he had left his iPad on the bleachers during basketball practice at 2 p.m. and that it was gone when he went to retrieve it an hour later.

Burglary on Bagburn

A Realtor reported the burglary of an abandoned house for sale on Bagburn Road Wednesday.

The Realtor doing the closing noticed a broken window in back of the house on Dec. 9, police said, adding shards of broken glass littered the floor and cabinet doors had been removed from a wooden frame.

The same house was burglarized on March 18,2011, according to police. Copper pipes were reported stolen during that incident.
