Police Reports: Burglary, Stolen Car, Hide & Seek

A gas station was burglarized, a car was stolen and police are investigating a suspicious person complaint.

Gas Station Burglarized

Prushko Service Center on Monroe Turnpike was burglarized shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday.

Officers responded to the service station after being alerted at headquarters by the establishments alarm system.

During the investigation police found the service station's front door had been punched out and several cartons of cigarettes missing from inside the store.

Monroe Police Lt. Brian McCauley said the value of the cigarettes has not been determined and  the business owner is currently taking  inventory to account for any other losses.

The case is under investigation.

Car Stolen From Cutler's Farm Driveway

A Cutler's Farm Road resident reported Saturday that  a car was stolen from his driveway.

The resident told police shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday at police heaquarters that  a 1997 gray Honda Civic was stolen sometime during the overnight hours on Friday.

The car was parked in the driveway with the windows open and keys in the ignition, according to the police report. 

The case is currently under investigation.

Suspicious Person on Crestwood Drive

A Crestwood Drive resident told police Sunday night that he saw a woman wearing shorts hiding behind a tree on his property at approximately 9:15.

According to the report, the resident described the woman as being in her 50's and wearing  a white tank top and running shorts.

The report says the resident had never seen the woman before in the neighborhood.

Police are currently investigating the incident and  have ramped up patrols in the area.
