Police Reports: Car Collides with Pole

The driver suffered minor injuries. A pedestrian, knocked over in the Stop & Shop parking lot is also okay.

A 17-year-old Monroe male lost control of his Ford Escape while driving south on Cutlers Farm Road at around 3:22 a.m.Thursday, crossed over into the other lane and struck a utility pole, according to police.

Police said the driver suffered injuries to his hand and was treated at the scene by Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service personnel and transported to Bridgeport Hospital.

The juvenile was issued infractions for failure to drive in the established lane and traveling unreasonably fast.

A Monroe woman was walking in the Stop & Shop parking lot, 470 Monroe Turnpike, on Thursday when an Easton woman accidentaly backed into her with her vehicle, knocking her to the ground, according to the police report.

Police said the pedestrian was not badly hurt and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment.

The driver was issued a written warning for unsafe backing.
