Police Reports: Diamond Jewelry Stolen

Officers are investigating the theft of hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry and a Florida burglary suspect was arrested for failure to appear in court.

The following information was supplied by the Monroe Police Department. No arrested person is guilty until so judged in a court of law.

A Huntingtown Road woman reported jewelry stolen at 10:37 Tuesday morning. Police are investigating the theft and found no signs of forced entry to her home, according to the report.

Stolen from the victim's jewelry box was a pair of $1,200 diamond stud earrings, a $900 diamond necklace and a $45 sterling silver necklace. Police said the woman first noticed the jewelry was missing on Saturday and that she has searched her entire residence without any luck.

PRAWN Warrant

Police arrested Stephen Medeiros Jr., 27, of Indian River Road in Jenson Beach, Fla., on a warrant at 7:11 Thursday morning for failure to appear in court for charges stemming from the burglary of a Shelton Road home.

He was held on $25,000 bond and arraigned.

On Oct. 9,2011, Medeiros allegedly stole a welder, a chainsaw, landscaping equipment and a five-gallon pail full of 50-cent pieces from a family member.
