Police said they found 8.3 grams of marijuana, 3.3 grams of roaches containing marijuana, two used pipes and a scale.

In addition to threatening, Paige was also charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor because the child lives in the house.

Paige was held on $25,000 bond for threatening and $10,000 bond for the drug charges, which were both paid.

He was due in Bridgeport Superior Court today.

Bogus check leads to arrest

A man in Bridgeport Superior Court, being held on unrelated charges Friday, was arrested by Monroe police on an outstanding warrant for cashing a check that wasn't his.

Jamar Jarrett, 22, of Platt Street, Bridgeport, was charged with third-degree larceny and second-degree forgery stemming from a fraudulent check for $3,999 he allegedly cashed at People's United Bank on Route 111 in January.

Monroe Police Sgt. John Butler said detectives worked with bank officials during the investigation and it is believed that Jarrett took the check from someone's mailbox.

Police did not indicate whether or not that check belonged to a Monroe resident.

Jarrett is currently in custody at Bridgeport Correctional Facility on other charges.

 Wires cut on Hammertown Road

A Hammertown Road resident reported to police Friday that utility wires for his phone and Internet connections to his house were cut sometime last week.

The Hammertown Road resident informed police Friday that he had been without telephone or Internet DSL service since last Wednesday.

He said when a service technician arrived to address the problem it was discovered that three utility lines  going to the box on the side of the house were cut.

Monroe Police Sgt. John Butler said during the investigation police reported no other homes in the area had been vandalized and there were no suspects.

The case is still under investigation.
