Police Reports: DUI, Risk of Injury to a Minor, Warrant Arrest All in One Stop

A Danbury man was arrested for DUI with two passengers, one a man wanted on a warrant and the other his 16-year-old daughter

Police arrested two Danbury men Thursday after a DUI stop on Main Street at 4:45 p.m.

Officers received a complaint of a black Chrysler driving erratically on Main Street and nearly striking an oncoming vehicle head on, according to the report. Police said they found the Chrysler on Route 25, near Green Street, and saw it swerving and crossing over the double yellow line.

After stopping the vehicle, police said the driver, Mark A. Trester, 52, had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on him and bloodshot, glassy eyes. He told officers he was coming from Moose Lodge in Danbury, where he had several beers, police said.

Field sobriety tests and breath tests determined Trester was under the influence, according to police. Trester of William Street in Danbury was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain the proper lane.

Police said Trester's 16-year-old daughter was also in the car, so he received the additional charge of risk of injury to a minor. He was released on $500 bond for an Aug. 5 court date.

Officers ran the license of Ronald Morrissey, 33, of Berkshire Place in Danbury, a passenger in the back seat, to see if he could drive the Chrysler rather than having it towed, according to the report. But the check found that the Bethel Police Department had an active warrant for his arrest, police said.

Bethel police reportedly picked up Morrissey at 8 p.m.
