Police Reports: Evading Arrest, Theft of a Sandwich

A woman was arrested after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident; two men were banned from Big Y over a sandwich; in another case a man turned himself in on a warrant

Hit and Run

A 73-year-old woman told Rite-Aid pharmacy employees that a gray Nissan Xterra backed into her Honda CRV in the parking lot of the 508 Monroe Turnpike store at 10:07 a.m. on Friday.

The store owner spoke to the other driver, who said she had to go back to her car to get her information, but took off, according to the report.

Witnesses who saw the accident told police the Nissan pulled into the Goodwill Store parking lot and officers confronted the driver, at 47-year-old Trumbull woman.

Police said the woman was evasive in answers to their questions, but was charged with evading responsibility based upon physical evidence and witnesses. She was released on $100 bond for a March 21 court date.

Warrant Arrest

A School Street man turned himself in on a warrant Saturday morning.

Lawrence Pisani, 48, was charged with issuing a bad check. He was released on $5,000 bond for a March 22 court date.

A Stolen Sandwich

Big Y supermarket's loss prevention department decided not to press charges against a 39-year-old Monroe man and a 30-year-old Stamford man for allegedly stealing a sandwich Saturday night, but issued a no trespassing order barring either from entering the store again.

The sandwich was never recovered, according to police.
