Police Reports: False Charges in the Bronx

A Quarter Horse Drive resident's name was used to open four bogus credit card accounts for thousands in purchases

False Account in the Bronx

A Quarter Horse Drive man told police Tuesday he learned four false credit card accounts were made in his name to make four fraudulent purchases in upstate New York totaling $6,169.

He told police he last used his MasterCard in July of 2010 and paid it off in full at that time. But then on Feb. 22, he received a letter from GE Money Bank, which issued the card, to confirm a change of address to a location in the Bronx, NY. He said he did not authorize this change.
