Police Reports: Fraud and Thefts

A caller posing as a bank employee tried to get a Moose Hill Road resident's account number.

A Moose Hill Road man answered a phone call for his son, who is away at college. The caller claimed to be from People's United Bank and said he needed the young man's bank account number.

When the father began to question the caller, he hung up. He then called the bank and was told nobody there had tried to contact his son.

That was what was reported in a fraud complaint filed at the Monroe Police Department Sept. 29.
