Police Reports: K-9 Assists, Vandals Strike

Monroe's police dog, Liberty, took part in an the investigation of an Ansonia break-in, and vandals caused damage at a Wheeler Road construction site.

Monroe K-9 Cop Assists Police in Ansonia Break–in Investigation

Monroe Canine officer Dennis Bradshaw and police dog Liberty were called to assist Ansonia Police Saturday to investigate a break in to a Board of Education Building on Grove Street in Ansonia.

Liberty was able to "clear" the building, however, no evidence was found inside building during the investigation.

According to the police report, a broken window was noted on the entry door.

Ansonia police will be continuing to investigate the incident.

Construction Machinery and Window Vandalized on Wheeler Road

A Deerfield Lane resident reported to police Aug. 2 that construction equipment and a garage window were vandalized on Wheeler Road .

According to the report, sometime over the weekend vandals allegedly came onto the Wheeler Road property and smashed the windshields of a yellow CAT 416 back hoe and a red Mack dump truck.

The resident also reported that a 12"x 12" garage window had been broken on the property.

The overall property damage is estimated at $900, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.
