Police Reports: Locked Doors pose Challenges for Thieves

Officers are investigating a rash of thefts from unlocked motor vehicles.

Officers have been responding to a rash of thefts from motor vehicles in the areas of Gaybower Road, Oakwood Drive and Woodlawn Road. But none involved forced entry. It appears that only the unlocked vehicles are being targeted, according to police.

Police remind residents to lock the doors on their vehicles, and not to leave valuable items like GPS units, cell phones, iPods, etc in plain view.

Those who see or hear anything suspicious are encouraged to call the Monroe Police Department at (203) 261-3622.
