Joshua Adams, 20, of Twist Hill Lane in Newtown went to the Monroe Police Department on Oct. 27, because he was reported missing and Newtown officers had told him to report to the nearest police station to assure he was safe, according to the report.

When police called up Adams' information to check on a missing persons report, they found two active warrants out of Newtown for his arrest on failure to appear in court charges, police said.
