Police Reports: PRAWN Warrants

Two people were arrested on warrants Thursday

Caught again

Stratford police officers arrested a New Haven man on two PRAWN warrants stemming from a Monroe incident Thursday morning, and notified the Monroe Police Department at 11:12 a.m.

Jamyl Mercer, 22, of Valley Road in New Haven was charged with first- and second-degree failure to appear in court and held on $500,000 bond.

The warrants stem from an incident on March 17, when Mercer allegedly stole a vehicle in Newtown and engaged police in pursuit before being caught in Monroe. After the stop, Mercer gave Monroe officers a false name before their investigation allowed them to correctly identify him, according to police.

Monroe police had charged him with reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, evading responsibility, third-degree larceny, criminal trover, criminal impersonation and reckless endangerment.

Probation violation

A 27-year-old Bridgeport woman, who was arrested at Big Y supermarket after a video camera caught her stealing cans of baby formula on Oct. 5, 2009, was picked up by Hartford police for violation of her probation Thursday morning, according to the report.

A PRAWN warrant charged Danielle Mainiero of Caroline Street with violation of probation and her bond was set at $50,000.

In the original Monroe case, she had been charged with sixth-degree larceny.
