Damage from Thursday night's storm blocked off town roads and Grafitti was reported at Fairfield Auction

Road Closures

Damage from Thursday night's storm has led to the closings of portions of two town roadways. As of 9:20 a.m. Friday, police said Spring Hill Road between Shawnee and Blueberry, was closed, as well as Old Zoar Road in the Bagburn Road area.

On his listserv Friday morning, First Selectman Steve Vavrek said the town contacted CL&P to get crews to clear the roads.

A Gray Smiley Face

A police officer on patrol at 7:20 Tuesday morning reported seeing graffiti behind Fairfield Auction, 707 Main Street.

Police said someone used gray spray paint to make a large smiley face with a cigarette in its mouth. Lt. Brian McCauley said it is similar to the graffiti previously found on a trail sign at Webb Mountain Park.
