Nail Flattens Moose Hill Road Resident's Morning

A Moose Hill Road resident reported to police on Sept. 16 that a nail was found in a tire of her car, which was parked in her driveway.

The victim reported finding five nails in her tires over the past year-and-a-half and believes they are being put in the driveway on purpose because there is no construction in the area.

According to the police report, the nail was found in the sidewall of the tire, valued at $150.

Police are investigating the incident.

A road rage incident

Members of the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department on Route 110 flagged down police officers Sunday to settle an argument between two out of town drivers in the firehouse parking lot.

According to the report, a Milford man, driving a Dodge Charger, and a Shelton man, driving a Ford Explorer, got into a verbal argument while traveling on Route 110 from Shelton.

The driver of the Ford Explorer told police he was driving behind the Charger when the driver began to brake erratically, causing the explorer to slow down.

Eventually the Charger pulled over to the side of the road to allow the truck to pass, at which point the driver of the Explorer yelled out the window and gave the other driver the middle finger, according to police.

Following that exchange, according to the driver of the Ford, said driver of the Charger then passed the truck yelling obscenities and returned the hand gesture.

The driver of the Charger told police the Explorer was tailgating and that he was trying to keep a safe distance from the vehicle.

Due to both men giving conflicting accounts of the incident, police did not press charges.
