A Boy Scout had recently completed his Eagle Scout project at Webb Mountain Park, leading fellow scouts in painting a new sign and cleaning up the trails. But one or more vandals used a marker to scrawl graffiti on the back of the trail sign and on the faces of rocks nearby, according to a police report filed Monday.

The park ranger first discovered the graffiti on Saturday, police said.

Electronics and Tobacco

A 16-year-old Monroe male was arrested at Masuk April 27 for the alleged theft of electronics and possession of tobacco on school grounds.

Police said officers were notified by the principal's office that the juvenile had electronics that were allegedly stolen and was in possession of tobacco.

He was charged with fourth-degree larceny and possession of tobacco by a minor. He was scheduled to appear in juvenile court on May 6.
