Cash and jewelry stolen

A 67-year-old Darien woman told police Aug. 22 that she had a cardboard box with jewelry and $500 cash in the trunk of her car when she played golf at Whitney Farms Golf Course, 175 Shelton Road.

After she was done playing, she noticed the box was gone, police said, adding she was not sure if she locked her doors.

The victim reportedly intended to move the contents of the box to a safe deposit box, but did not that day because it was a Sunday and the bank was closed.
