Andrew Wilson, 30, was charged with second-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful restraint and third-degree assault. He was released on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to be in court Tuesday.

Police said Wilson's 27-year-old fiancee said they got into an argument at a wedding at The Waterview in Monroe because he had been drinking. She went to her mother's house and returned home, where she and Wilson argued over a pack of cigarettes, according to the report.

When she turned her back to Wilson, he allegedly threw her down to the floor, placed his hands around her neck and choked her, police said, adding she said this is not the first time it happened.

Officers found Wilson in Stratford and arrested him, police said.

Computer Smashed

A Mon-Tar Drive man became angry because his wife talked on her cell phone for work on a day off Friday, so he allegedly took her laptop out of her car and smashed it on the driveway, according to the report.

Police said the damage to the computer is about $800, adding the victim told them it was the third time Joao Campos broke her laptop.

Campos, 36, was charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct and released on $500 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Narcotics Arrest

Police stopped a Pontiac for blowing through a stop sign on Moose Hill Road at 9:34 Friday night, leading to a narcotics arrest, according to the report.

Anthony Moran, 21, of Wade Street in Bridgeport was charged with possession of less-than-four-ounces of marijuana, possession within 1,500 feet of a school, possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $2,000 bond for a July 8 court date.

Police said Moran started shaking and sweating when talking to the officer who stopped his vehicle, so police K-9 Liberty was brought in to do an air scent of his Pontiac. Two ounces of marijuana and a scale were found in the trunk, according to police.

DUI Arrest

A driver called in a complaint of a car driving erratically on Main Street at around 2:17 Saturday morning and police stopped the vehicle at the intersection with Route 59 and arrested the driver for DUI.

Deborah Sylvester, 50, of Windgate Circle was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the established lane. She was released on $500 bond for a July 12 court date.

Police said Sylvester had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her and that field sobriety and breath tests determined she was under the influence.

DUI, Fine for Pot

A Danbury man was arrested for DUI at 3 o'clock Saturday morning after an officer saw his red Pontiac Firebird weaving in the 500 block of Main Street with a broken taillight, according to police.

Michael James Arnold, 22, of Oak Ridge Avenue was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to have two brake lights. He was also issued a $100 fine for possession of less than a half an ounce of marijuana.

Arnold was released on $500 bond for a July 12 court date.

Police said Arnold had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on him and that field sobriety tests determined he was under the influence.
