Police Reports: Toyota hits Propane Tank Cage at Walgreens

Driver felt dizzy and hit the gas instead of the brake.

Passersby reported seeing an ambulance and police cars in the Walgreens pharmacy parking lot on Monroe Turnpike late Sunday morning. A 2002 Toyota had lurched forward while turning into a parking space, jumped the curb and struck a jersey barrier — driving it into propane tank cage against the building.

The Toyota also hit the left front bumper of a 2002 Chrysler Minivan parked to the right of the space, according to the police report. Nobody was injured in the accident.

At approximately 11:31 a.m. the 75-year-old Monroe woman driving the Toyota told officers she was turning into the parking space when she suddenly felt dizzy and accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake, police said.
