Police Reports: Vandals Paint the Town Orange

Five homeowners told police orange paintballs pelted their houses and a landscaper reported the theft of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

A Paintball Shooting Spree

Police officers responded to five complaints of paintball vandalism last weekend. In all cases orange paintballs were fired.

At 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, a 39-year-old Guinea Road told police his vehicle was struck four times with paintballs and that his house had also been hit four times, according to the report. Police said the victim had told his wife he thought he heard snow falling off their roof when the house was being hit. One pellet reportedly broke the siding.

A 58-year-old East Maiden Lane man reported $23,000 worth of commercial landscaping equipment stolen from a 20-by-40-foot canvas garage on his property Friday morning.

He told an officer he had put two Ex Mark mowers — valued at $11,000 each — and a $2,000 Fradan backpack blower away for the season in November and discovered the burglary on Friday when he went into his garage for something else, according to the report.
