A Bridgeport man allegedly did not appear in court following a DUI arrest

A Bridgeport man turned himself in on two warrants Wednesday night for allegedly failing to show up in court to answer for a DUI arrest in Monroe last February.

Alejandro Martinez-Penaloz, 28, of Grand Street was charged with first-degree failure to appear in court and second-degree failure to appear in court and held on a total $10,000 bond.

At 5:16 p.m. on Feb. 19, police said Martinez-Penaloz was arrested for driving under the influence and risk of injury to a minor.

When he failed to appear in Superior Court in Bridgeport to answer to these charges, police said the judge issued warrants for his arrest. After learning police were looking for him, Martinez-Penaloz turned himself in at police headquarters.
