Police: Speeding Leads to a DUI

A Trumbull man was arrested for drunken driving Jan. 10 after being stopped for speeding while heading south in his 2013 Subaru Impreza at around 2:10 in the morning, according to police.

Police said Jonathan Toth was clocked driving 64 mph in a 35 mph zone by an officer using radar at the intersection with Elm Street.

Toth had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on him and glassy eyes, police said, adding Toth told the officer he had two glasses of wine earlier. Field tests determined he was under the influence and breath tests showed a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, according to the report.

Toth of Fairchild Road was charged with DUI and speeding. Bond was set at $500 for a Jan. 20 court date.
