Police Try to Keep Up with Energy Drink Thieves
A rash of energy drink thefts from town supermarkets continued Sept. 19, when Stop & Shop, 470 Monroe Turnpike, reported told police a shoplifter made off with six six-packs of 5-Hour Energy drinks valued at $15.99 each.
Just last month, police responded to two reports of thefts of Red Bull energy drinks and Trojans condoms from Stop & Shop.
On Sept. 18, police said the suspect, described as a tall African-American man with a medium build wearing a black sweatshirt and a backpack, walked directly to the aisle where the energy drinks are and left the store a short-time later.
An employee noticed the energy drinks were missing, according to the report. Detectives are investigating the incident.
