Red Bull & Trojans Thieves May Have Struck Again

Police officers went to Big Y Supermarket at 535 Monroe Turnpike on a report of suspected shoplifters Friday evening. Meanwhile, four 12-packs of Red Bull was stolen from the Stop & Shop down the street.

A couple fitting the description of suspects in the theft of 11 boxes of Trojan condoms from Stop & Shop last Tuesday, made off with the Red Bull energy drinks — driving off in a tan Nissan Altima.

Police said the thefts may be related.

A Stop & Shop employee told police that a black man, around 6 feet tall and in his 30's, wearing a grey T-shirt and jeans and carrying a black backpack, entered the store with a white woman in her 20's, around 5'5 with shoulder length brown hair, wearing a bright pink shirt and black sweatpants, according to the report.

The couple had a shopping cart with green and white bags in it, police said, adding a store employee saw the man fill the bags with $89 worth of Red Bull and leave without paying for it.

Police have requested the surveillance video as part of their investigation.

Earlier last week, when officers questioned employees about the theft of condoms, some recalled seeing the couple there a week prior and told officers the duo had tried to buy Red Bull and Trojans back then, but that their credit cards were denied.
