Roses in Brilliant Shades of Pink, Yellow, Orange and Fire Engine Red

The Stepney Volunteer Fire Department's Valentine's Day Roses Sale is going on from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday

Families perused the buckets full of flowers on display inside a tent set up in front of the Stepney Volunteer Fire Department's Station 1 at 88 Main Street Sunday afternoon, during its Valentine's Day Roses Sale.

The fundraiser has been going on all weekend and Maurene Rose, one of the organizers, expects a big rush of traffic on Monday when customers pick up bouquets for their sweethearts on the big Day.

"Tomorrow should be the busiest day," she said.

"It's a good cause," said Aaron Blank, a firefighter. "We have a lot of new members  and are trying to make a positive impact on the community. That's what it's all about."
