Roxbury Man Charged with Stealing Back His Car

Man charged with trespass and larceny for allegedly taking his car without paying the bill.

A year and a half after a towed car went missing from Hill N Dale Service Station in Monroe, a Roxbury man was arrested on Monday on charges of criminal trespass and larceny.

According to Monroe police, Hill N Dale reported a 1997 Mitsubishi missing from their lot on Jan. 30, 2013. The vehicle had been towed 2 days earlier after becoming disabled in the middle of the intersection of Route 25 and Judd Road.

An investigation lead police to issue a warrant for Michael Walsh, 56, of Bacon Road, Roxbury, the husband of the car’s owner, for taking the vehicle from the service station after hours.

The warrant also charged Walsh with not paying the outstanding bill for $119.11.

Monroe police took Walsh from the Brookfield Police Department, where he was being held, and processed him on charges of criminal trespass in the third degree and larceny in the sixth degree.

He was released after posting $1,000 bond pending arraignment on July 16.
