Search Continues for Missing Monroe Woman

Police released the identity and a photo today of a Monroe woman, who was reported missing on Monday night.

Nancy Souza, 51, of Williams Road went out for a walk and was last seen at 5 p.m. by a neighbor. Souza, wearing tan pants, was walking in the area of Route 59 and Main Street, police said.

"The family is concerned about her well being," Lt. Brian McCauley said Wednesday, adding Souza may be in need of medical assistance.

Search and rescue teams were made up of Monroe police officers, Urban Search & Rescue, Aquarion officers, State Police and their canines, officers from Easton, Newtown, Stratford and other area police departments with their trained dogs.

"We're putting every resource out to find this woman and return her safely to her family," McCauley said.

Police are requesting assistance from the public in locating Souza, who is 5’1” tall and 110 pounds with brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair. Anyone with information should call the Monroe Police Department at (203) 261-3622.

On Saturday night, Souza had been in the St. Jude School parking lot on charges of driving under the influence, operating with a suspended license and narcotics possession.
