The man convicted of setting fire to The Rustic Grille on Main Street in Monroe last summer and attempting to light fires at Frank's Barber Stylists in the same shopping center and Matt & Louie's Barber Shop, further south on Route 25, has been sentenced.
The former volunteer Trumbull firefighter who also set blazes in Fairfield and last year will serve 10 years in prison, The Connecticut Post reports.
Christopher Message, 35, of Fairfield to setting numerous fires in the three towns causing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage.
According to The Post, Message plead "guilty to six counts of second-degree arson, two counts of third-degree arson, three counts of first-degree criminal mischief and one count of reckless burning."
Message was arrested for his arson by , r and .
Message's sentence is 20 years, suspended after 10, followed by five years probation. While on probation, Message will perform 100 hours of community service and "make restitution for the damage he caused" while setting the 11 fires, The Post reports.
