Stolen Street Signs on Old Fish House Road

A resident living near Webb Mountain Park noticed that the street sign for Old Fish House Road was missing Tuesday afternoon. Then he found that black and yellow arrow signs posted on a guard rail were also missing, police said, adding the man believes he last saw the signs intact on Friday.

Lt. Brian McCauley said youths may believe stealing street signs is a victimless crime, but missing signs can lead to a whole host of problems.

Missing cautionary signs and stop signs pose hazards for motorists and when it causes accidents, McCauley said the person who stole the sign is held responsible.
