The Stolen Tips of a 'Sandwich Artist'

A man allegedly stole money from the tip jar at Subway.

A "sandwich artist" at the Subway at 447 Monroe Turnpike reported five to 10 dollars stolen from a tip jar at 9:19 p.m. Sunday.

The employee left the counter unattended for a moment and police said surveillance camera footage showed a white male with black spiked hair, wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans, lean over the counter and take money out of the tip jar before walking out of the sandwich shop.

Mailbox Vandalism

A Moose Hill Road resident reported a damaged mailbox at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police said it will cost about $50 to replace.

A Bottle of Scotch

An officer on patrol at 2:35 Sunday morning found a gift wrapped bottle of scotch in the parking lot in front of Executive Cigars, 446 Main Street. It was unopened, according to the report.

Police believe someone may have bought it from Stepney Wine & Liquor, which is in the same plaza, and accidentally left it in the parking lot while loading a vehicle.
