The following information was supplied by the Monroe Police Department. No arrested person is guilty until so judged in a court of law.
An officer on patrol on Route 34 March 19 stopped a green Honda Civic with dark tinted windows at approximately 9:42 p.m. police said, adding the driver did not have a license on him, the tinting was not inspected and an expandable baton was found inside the car.
A background check on the driver found that his license was suspended and there were two active warrants out for his arrest, a PRAWN warrant from the Danbury Police Department for failure to respond to an infraction and a warrant from the Connecticut State Police, according to the report.
The driver, Casimiro Rivera, 27, of Downs Street in Danbury was charged with operating with a suspended license, window tint and weapons in a vehicle. For the Monroe charges, bond was set at $1,000 for a March 27 court date.
Lt. Brian McCauley said Monroe processed the PRAWN warrant then turned Rivera over to a state trooper.
