Unlocked Car Doors Welcome Thieves
Monroe has been hit with a rash of thefts from unlocked motor vehicles.
Several Monroe residents reported thefts from motor vehicles that were left unlocked.
The registration was reported stolen Aug. 25 from a vehicle parked on Greenwood Lane. Police said the incident took place sometime overnight.
In another theft reported on Hollow Tree Lane Aug. 25, insurance papers, paperwork and a wrench set were stolen, according to police.
Two unlocked vehicles were entered on Spring Hill Road. On Aug. 26, a $370 table-saw just bought from Home Depot was reported stolen from one of the vehicles and the interior of the other was ransacked, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
