Vandals Damage a Mailbox, a Jeep and An Inflatable Pool

Officers responded to a rash of vandalism over the weekend.

Mailbox Knocked from Post

A mailbox was knocked off its post on Meadows End Road sometime between 8 p.m. on Saturday and 8:30 on Sunday morning. Police had no estimate on the cost of the damage.

A 42-year-old Lynn Drive man heard noises outside at 11:30 p.m. on June 29 and saw several male teenagers had jumped into his inflatable pool, according to police. He did not recognize the youths and when he tried to confront them, police said they ran down the road.

The next morning the homeowner reported $371 worth of damage to the pool which had two slits cut into it, according to police.

Window Smashed

The driver's side window of a 2005 Jeep Liberty parked on Guinea Road was shattered, according to a complaint filed by the owner on June 29. Police believe a pellet gun did the damage sometime between 3 p.m. on June 28 and 11:50 a.m. on the day of the report, though they said a projectile had not been found.
