A Big Y loss prevention officer turned two shoplifting incidents over to police after discovering the thefts while reviewing video surveillance tapes. Police are investigating both cases.
On Aug. 12 at 1:40 p.m., police said a heavy, white male wearing a dark short sleeve shirt was seen filling reusable shopping bags with six Monster four-packs at $7.99 each, one $19.99 12-pack of Red Bull, two four-packs of Red Bull valued at $10.49 each, two four-packs of Red Bull — at a different size — for $7.99 each, two $16.99 cans of Enfamil, two $14.99 containers of Good Start, and two $24.99 tubs of Gentile Plus and left the store without paying. This was discovered and reported on Aug. 13.

On Aug. 18, the loss prevention officer reported an incident that took place at 6 p.m. the previous evening.
Police said the store security was tipped off about the theft by an employee who saw a bald, white man, who appeared to be around 50-years-old, take packages of shrimp and steaks, put it in a store basket, and leave Big Y without paying for it.
