Violation of a Protective Order and a Car Off the Road

Officers arrested a Bridgeport man on a warrant and responded to a one-car accident on Purdy Hill Road.

Slippery Conditions on Purdy Hill

A 24-year-old Monroe man told police he was okay Friday after losing control of his 2003 Toyota Camry amid slippery conditions on Purdy Hill Road at around 7:40 p.m., then going off a curb on the right side of the road and down an embankment before striking a large tree, according to the report.

EMS volunteers evaluated the driver at the scene and he was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center for further evaluation, police said.

The driver was issued a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

Firefighters also responded to the call.

Violation of a Protective Order

Fairfield police arrested Brian McNulty, 27, of Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport on Monroe's warrant Sunday and turned him over the Monroe Police Department at around 5:03 p.m.

McNulty allegedly violated a protective order to have no contact with an ex-girlfriend, who lives in Monroe. Police said McNulty called her several times, left 11 voicemails and sent her 11 emails.

He was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, criminal violation of a restraining order and second-degree harassment. Bond was set at $10,000 and McNulty was arraigned at court in Bridgeport on Monday morning, police said.
