According to Mitch Gross of CL&P, a total of 8,500 Connecticut customers are without power. That includes 3,600 in New Britain, where a car crashed through a fence at a substation, damaging some equipment.
Monroe's outages are down to 42, according to the outage map.

A resident in the Hattertown Road area told Monroe Patch on Facebook that his neighborhood lost power Sunday night as a thunderstorm moves through town. Connecticut Light & Power's Outage Map shows that a total of 45 Monroe customers lost power.
A total of 11,986 of CL&P's Connecticut customers lost power, according to the map. New Canaan and Greenwich have been hit the hardest with 4,752 customers losing power in Greenwich and 3,645 in New Canaan.
