Hovey: 'Words Fail to Describe the Shock and Horror I Feel'

State Rep. DebraLee Hovey released a statement in response to the tragic school shooting in Sandy Hook.

State Rep. DebraLee Hovey (R-112), who was travelling out of the country as Friday's shooting tragedy in Sandy Hook unfolded, cut her family vacation short to immediately return to her district.

"Words fail to describe the shock and horror I feel upon learning of this incomprehensible act of cruelty and violence that has ended so many beautiful and innocent lives right in our home community.," Hovey said in a statement.

"When tragedies like this unfold from remote locations, the shockwaves always reach us, and shake us as parents, and grandparents. But never do we imagine that one that the very epicenter of such tragedy and heartbreak will be in our own backyard," Hovey said. "My sympathy, love and prayers are with the families, friends and neighbors who have today experienced the kind of horror and tragedy no parent should ever have to."
