Monroe P&Z Commission Elects Officers

Written by Angela Cross

With revised regulations in hand, the Monroe Planning & Zoning Commission elected officers to lead it into the New Year.

During last week's meeting, commissioners reelected Patrick O'Hara as chairman, William Porter as vice chairman and Karen Martin as secretary.

Major proposals before the commission right now are a big box retail store at 2 Victoria Drive, which many believe is a Walmart, and a proposal for a Stop & Shop gas station at 528 Monroe Turnpike — an application that was resubmitted.
