Agostine Invites Parents to a Kindergarten Registration Gathering

Supt. of Schools James Agostine invites all Monroe parents of children starting kindergarten this fall to attend a fact-filled Kindergarten Registration gathering at Masuk High School on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.

Under State law, to be eligible for kindergarten in the fall of 2014, a child must be at least five-years-old on or before December 31, 2014.

Principals, teachers, and support staff will be part of the registration to acquaint or reacquaint parents with the kindergarten perspective. In the weeks following the orientation, individual appointments will be made at the child's elementary school to complete the process.

The 90-minute orientation will include an informal welcome by Agostine, followed by breakout sessions by school, where parents meet members of the staff and ask questions. A packet of take-home information parents need to start the registration process will be distributed.

A snow date has been set for Feb. 6. Parents who cannot attend the orientation should contact their elementary school for information packets after the orientation program.
