Ageing to Sageing, the Second Half of Life

Join Barbara Stokes for an ongoing exploration of the vast inner potential available to us in the second half of life.  

Barbara was a PhD student of Angeles Arrien, a cultural anthropologist, at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in the 1990's.  Angie's beautiful book, the Second Half of Life will provide the background for our individual journeys in this group. 

In her book, she introduces us to the eight gates of wisdom.  "As we enter these archetypal gates we will learn from cultures that regard elders as living treasures.  The second half of life is the ultimate initiation.  In it, we encounter new, unexpected, unfamiliar, and unknowable moments that remind us that we are a sacred mystery made manifest."

Let's explore these gates together to create a process that will ignite, deepen, and cultivate our own wisdom and insight and help us change a cultural perspective that sees aging as only decline, disease, despair and death.
