Monroe has a townwide parking ban to allow Highway Department crews to plow the town's streets. Interim Public Works Dir. Chris Nowacki also warns residents that snowdrifts will make it difficult for plow truck drivers to vehicle parked close to the road.
Metro North is on a Saturday schedule on Friday.
Due to the storm, Monroe Town Hall, the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library and the Monroe Senior Center are Closed today.
Supt. of Schools James Agostine canceled school for Friday.
Due to inclement weather the Garder Road Landfill will be closed on Friday and Saturday.
"[T]he Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling all road tests on Friday. The cancelation is due to expected inclement weather and poor road conditions. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date. The numbers to call are 860-263-5700 if someone is within the Hartford area and toll-free 800-842-8222 for those outside the Hartford area. DMV is also attempting to contact customers with road test appointments to advise them of the schedule change."
