Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut will host its annual Monroe Tree of Light Ceremony on Thursday, at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, 733 Monroe Turnpike, at 6:30 p.m.

The Monroe Clergy Association will hold a "Day of Service" in memory of those who lost their lives last year in the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, Saturday with an ecumenical worship service in the Meetinghouse of the Monroe Congregational Church, 34 Church Street.
