This Week: A Winter Farmer's Market at Benedict's and More!

Cold winter weather continues before warming up by the end of the week.

Monroe AccuWeather: A high of 51 degrees with wind and a morning shower is expected on Monday, with a low of 8 degrees. Expect things to cool down by midweek with highs of 12 degrees Tuesday, 24 Wednesday, before warming up at 30 degrees on Thursday, 42 on Friday and 46 on Saturday.

Wednesday:

Monroe Education Watch's meeting will feature Supt. James Agostine and Assistant Supt. John Battista answering questions about the Common Core Implementation in Monroe Public Schools. It will be at 9 a.m. in the Media Center of Masuk High School.

A Book discussion at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library will feature the book, "The Snow Child" by Eowyn Ivey, a first novel by a native Alaskan journalist and bookseller. It will start at 6:45 p.m.

Thursday:

Dog Behavioral Problem Solving with Rob Mullin - K9 Wizard will be held at Choice Pet Supply, 535 Monroe Turnpike, at 7 p.m. 

Friday:

A Winter Farmers' Market at Benedict's Home and Garden, 480 Purdy Hill Road, begins this Friday from 2-5 p.m., and will be held every Friday at the same time through March 7, 2014.

Saturday:

A Puzzle-Off Party will be held at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library at 10 a.m. Teams of up to six people will do jigsaw puzzles.
