MAC - all you do is whine, without any supporting facts or documenation. Any 3 year old can do thatRead More ! How about describing all this corruption you just mentioned.
MAC July 24, 2014 at 05:39 pm
I don't think a 3 yr. old could name the disgusting Giordano (Waterbury), or tons of Bridgeport PolsRead More such as Joe Ganim, drug user Fabrizi, Ernie Newton, Christina Ayala, who did not even Live in the district she was elected to represent, Christopher Donovan, disgraced former House Spkr. and congressional candidate who was corrupt and caught by the FBI---want more??????------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sorry you asked, yet, Mike? I won't give the disgusting details, but you can easily find them, and so many more with a simple search!

Unfortunately the owner is choosing to not to comment. Her stance from what they stated on radio theRead More other morning is she does not want to make this a big deal. But the people who go there every morning as well said this woman goes in and does not say anything to her kid and he runs amok annoying the other patrons. Although the mother is claiming this to be an isolated incident, other patrons paint a much bigger picture and the owner finally got fed up.

My guess is there is more than one side to this story. Perhaps the toddler has a history of actingRead More up or being disruptive. We don't know. Moms are often in denial about their children’s bad behavior. That being said, my daughter at about 3 once said "Mommy, that lady is really fat" loudly in the grocery store. I quickly told her not to say that. She answered me with “but she is Fat". I was horrified of course, but kids are honest. She was a big lady.

Kara, the headline reads "Organic Fruit Sold Locally Recalled for Possible ListeriaRead More Contamination". It's clearly sensationalizing the two organic products.
Suzanne jefferis July 24, 2014 at 01:12 pm
The article should read 'Fruit Sold Locally'... It is misleading to the unaware who read no fartherRead More to suggest that organic fruit is the problem. All fruit, organic or those sprayed with unsafe pesticides should be washed. If gene spliced with herbicides and toxic pathogens as with GMO fruit, it is no longer a product of nature.
PS July 24, 2014 at 02:24 pm
Let's be realistic, those who are "unaware" probably aren't the people buying organic inRead More the first place. Lay off Kara - she's the only reason the patch is any good!

Sure, if you're the bicyclist you can - and should - do that, I agree. My point was that thisRead More article is about which towns are the safest for bicyclists and so my point was that I'm not sure that just because some towns have task forces, outreach, and engagement actually makes them truly any safer in reality without widening some roads, which are typically pretty narrow in CT, too narrow for cars and bikes to correctly share them.
Lesley July 10, 2014 at 12:23 pm
My apologies. I misunderstood.

Yes, it should follow that "distracted cycling" is against the law - easy enough to findRead More out. Enforcement of laws is certainly important safety of all users of the road, and is recognized as such, but there are four others that are necessary for a Town to become Bike-Friendly, which is the point of the survey initiative. Linda was on to one of the others - Education. For the rest of the "E"s, go to www.bikeleague.org/content/5-es and follow what is happening nation-wide to make cycling a safe and acceptable activity everywhere. As for this initial survey, the results are clearly not very accurate, and hopefully many more people will care to participate next time.

I didn't see any stats about how many bike accidents there were? In Fairfield, we see tons ofRead More bicycles. Most do not follow the rules of the road...they go the wrong way, they fail to signal, they fail to yield the right of way, at stop signs, and most are adults who certainly should know better. Yesterday I saw a man on a scooter, without a helmet, on So. Benson Rd...ON THE PHONE! I really believe that most of the roads, in Fairfield are unsafe for bicycling. It's not the fault of the roads, but traffic is very heavy in this town, and people do not use caution and common sense. I really believe a bike in this town, is extremely dangerous.

Shame on the folks who supported the government kidnapping based on rumor and suggestion that theRead More court knew something nasty about the family - blindly supporting government tyranny. Where is that smoking gun to justify the kidnapping by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts? It never existed.

Whatever therapy, either physical or mental, that Justina gets from here on out should be paid forRead More by those who hurt her & her family. They screwed up BIG TIME and the Pelletiers should NOT have to pay one dime for any therapy. I hope that this completion brings more people to church on Sundays, wherever they go to worshipRead More God. Many of society's worst problems stem from people not believing in God's Laws, and not teaching them in their homes and families. (The broken family problem, especially fatherlessness, is another huge factor!)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------In my view the "Blue Laws," wherein businesses were CLOSED on Sundays, were a great thing! There should be a 'day of rest,' as God ordained, for worship and spending time with family. People today are overly spoiled, such as at the thought of being ^^inconvenienced^^ by not being able to grocery shop on Sundays, etc. A little advance planning is a GOOD thing, as is making it possible for everyone who wants to, to attend church with their families, instead of having to work!
